About

About me

I am a software and web developer from Carinthia, Austria, where I was born and raised. I followed hockey sporadically in the 90s, but due to lack of TV coverage of the NHL I never went deep into it. As it was the hey-day of Eric Lindros he pretty much instantly became my favorite player, and the Flyers wearing my favorite color became my favorite team.

Years later in college, I suddenly got the urge to watch some hockey. Checking in with the Flyers, I saw Mike Richards play and instantly was hooked again. I haven't abandoned the fandom since.

This has also caused me many sleepless nights. Not due to worry, really (though on occasion that too), but because I often get up at 1 AM to watch the Flyers play.

Locally I follow the Klagenfurter Athletic-Sportclub (KAC), who has won the austrian national title 30 times.

Besides hockey I'm also a big fan of animation and comics, play Magic: The Gathering and do other assorted, mostly nerdy things. You can follow me on twitter where I use the account @chaosof99.

About this blog

After being a member of various communities around the internet, I finally grabbed the initiative and started my own hockey blog. This is partially due to the encouragement of Jeff Marek on the Marek vs. Wyshynksi podcast.

Here I plan to write some longer thoughts and what I find to be interesting, in and around the sport of hockey. It will be primarily focused on the Flyers, but I plan to write on other topics as well.
